Came to this un-huge and wonderful neighborhood gem of a restaurant serving Chinese cuisine on a Sunday early evening as a party of three. We were seated right away and greeted by none other than Peter, the owner/proprietor and namesake of the restaurant. Ordered three dishes, which came out in about ten minutes. The sesame chicken is REALLY great, especially if you like a slightly caramelized sauce on the tender chicken pieces. Singapore noodles are very flavorfully prepared, and the simple, yet very tasty green beans were delicious too. There are only a handful of tables and seats, but that just adds to the charm of this restaurant. No MSG used in the food, if you care about that kind of thing. Very very highly recommended!
Perfect little hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. Some of the best Asian food I’ve had in a long time. The general Tao chicken was crispy and flavorful. The gentleman at the counter was very nice as well.
My love and savior for American Chinese food. Came here for the 1st time on Christmas day to satisfy and General Tao's chicken craving and it did not disappoint. This is now my go to for american-chinese quisine.
It was all around just good for for a good price. I heard a lot about this spot all over from friends and co-workers and thought it would just be another mid spot and I was just flat wrong.
Also grabbed some lo mein and crab ragoons - all were good. Not all the dishes are absolutely spactacular, but for the price it's just an amazing deal. Can't wait to come back and try some more food from here.
I hope business is well for Peter, because this would be a huge loss for the neighborhood if it didn't stick around for a loooong time.
Food was good but the dinner combo came with a half-empty small soup and the fried rice was only 3/4 full and was just rice with a little bit of egg. There wasn't close to there being enough rice for the lobster sauce I ordered, unless I was to drink it like soup.
I grabbed some lunch at this small restaurant on a Sunday. There are only 4-5 tables to eat in, so perhaps most of their business is take out. They request cash unless you purchase over $15. I ordered shrimp with snow peas, and rice and an egg roll came with it. It met my needs for a quick lunch.
Congress Park staple. Unfortunately the Californians have moved in and are rating this place like it’s in China Town….I have been eating here for 20 years. Amazing dishes. Tofu especially. Shame it looks like people want it replaced with another hipster burger joint.
Truly GREAT little neighborhood spot.
Food was easily some of the best Chinese food I've had in Denver (if not *the* best — editor's note: get the sesame chicken).
The owner Peter was there who was a delightful human with a great sense of humor — and had lots to say about the neighborhood and its changes over the years (and had some good stock picks 😂 )
Sad it's taken me this long to find this place. Will be back!
Peter’s is definitely the best Chinese takeout in Colorado. You have to get the sesame chicken! It is absolutely the crispiest and most flavorful I’ve ever had. Even my dad, a Colorado native of 60 years, has crowned the sesame chicken as the best he’s ever had. The happy family and broccoli beef are always delicious as well. Also, this is one of the few Chinese restaurants that offers a gluten free option for most dishes, so my wife is able to eat here. The dining room is very small, so we always pickup and go have a picnic.
